Members of the Twin Cities Forum (Coventry, UK) met online to share stories about learning and education.

Former Lord Mayor of the British city of Coventry greeted the participants of the meeting in Russian. He spoke about the University of the Third Age – a movement aimed at the education of mainly retired members of the community – and about his experience in studying and teaching Russian.

Students of Pyatigorsk University (Novorossiysk, Russia) told stories about their university and answered questions about how and where they are planning to apply the knowledge gained during university studies.

Peter Bake from Exeter (UK) shared his memories of studying the Russian language, and Martin Kimber from Cheltenham shared his impressions of a trip to Russia. Martin also talked about his experience of volunteering at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Several participants of this meeting had previously met each other through various cultural and educational projects and exchanges in Russia and the UK. This meeting allowed them to reunite to discuss the past, present and future of the twin cities movement.
