On January 26, in the framework of a round table on the development of international cooperation between Russian non-profit organizations, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Agency for Social Information, the non-governmental sector and business community discussed the opportunities and challenges facing Russian NGOs in the international arena.
According to the director of the Agency for Social Information Elena Topoleva-Soldunova, participation of Russian NGOs in international humanitarian projects carries great potential not only for Russia, but also for other countries, since domestic NGOs have already gained experience in implementing large innovative social projects.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov delivered a report on the importance of presence of Russian non-profit organizations in the international humanitarian space. Rossotrudnichestvo representatives also noted the new functions of Russian Centres for Science and Culture: “Our representative offices should become an interlink in the development of mutually beneficial international contacts. And we hope that it will be profitable and interesting for non-governmental organizations to cooperate with our RCSCs.”
