Various National Unity Day events were held throughout the UK. The festivities, which took place at the Russian school Znaniye (London) with support of the Government Commission for Compatriots Living Abroad (PKDSR), Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Embassy in the UK, were attended by over 250 children and teachers.
The children got acquainted with the history of the holiday as well as with the deeds of our ancestors in the name of independence of the Motherland. They remembered the greatness and beauty our country, its eventful history, and consolidated their knowledge of state symbols. The event highlighted the importance of living in peace and harmony, respecting each other’s values and interests, and reminded that it is much easier to solve difficulties together, in unity.
Open creative classes and an art exhibition were held in the framework of the celebratory events. Lessons dedicated to the National Unity Day were held by several Russian schools across the UK.
