Musical play "About Cat Kotovich" was performed for Russian-speaking children in London

The representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London hosted a musical play for children "About Cat Kotovich", which included poems, songs and riddles about cats. The children learned about the poet Joseph Brodsky’s favourite cat and met the talking Cat Kotovich and cat Vasilisa. Kotovich and Vasilisa revealed "cat secrets" about how animals talk to people and among themselves, as well as told the children how to tell a cat’s mood. The event was accompanied with famous drawings by a remarkable St. Petersburg artist Vladimir Rumyantsev. Each young guest received a hand-made toy cat created by artist Irina Papane.

The evening was prepared by the literary and drama group Svoy Variant and its head Margarita Markova; it was held with the participation of the Izba folklore ensemble. The event was attended by Tatyana Rybakova, Bizhan Badi, Anna Grinevich, Zinaida Petruchenya.

The event was held in compliance with the rules and recommendations of the British government to counter the spread of coronavirus infection.
