The first art exhibition of a UK-based group of Russian-speaking female artists, B. A R T group, has opened at the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London.
B. A R T group was founded in 2018 with the aim of supporting Russian-speaking women artists in the UK and facilitating creative exchange and development of joint projects. Among the members of the group are illustrators, teachers, writers, owners of creative businesses and studios. In their work, group members represent various trends and styles, which were combined into a joint exhibition for the first time.
The exhibition features pieces completed in a variety of styles, including post-impressionism and contemporary art. The pieces were completed using a wide range of materials, such as watercolours, acrylics, oil on canvas and sculptural fragments. Colour palettes are also strikingly diverse, from traditional warm earthy tones to deep space-like and futuristic neon hues. The central motive of the exhibition is the woman, representing a universal symbol of creation, diversity of nature and the Universe.
