British Ambassador to Moscow Deborah Bronnert urged to preserve the memory of the decisive contribution of the Soviet people to the victory over Nazism.

"For multiple years, the Soviet people faced the brunt of the Nazi military machine. The consequences were truly horrific. Words cannot convey the scale and sacrifices made by so many people to defeat Nazism," she said on Thursday, addressing the participants of an online evening dedicated to the British people bearing the title of Righteous Among the Nations, which was held in Moscow.

The evening was organized by the Russian Jewish Congress in cooperation with the British Embassy in Russia and the British Holocaust Educational Trust.
