Members of the All-Russian Social Movement Volunteers of the Victory (UK branch) led by coordinator Lyudmila Gavrilova and the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in the UK Anton Chesnokov raised the Russian flag at the Soviet War Memorial on Russia Day.
Performers from Russia, the UK, Ukraine and Switzerland performed at the Russian Embassy and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London. The concerts were broadcast live on YouTube.
Participants of a festive video conference, which was held between twin-city movement representatives from Russia and the UK, discussed preparations for the 20th anniversary of the twin city relations between Moscow and London and shared their views on the programme of the international twin-cities forum planned for November 2020.
An online conference “Russia Day: Youth Diplomacy as the Foundation of Successful International Relations”, organized by the Youth Club of Russian Compatriots in the Republic of Cyprus, Youth Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and international youth portal Kalinka, also took place in the framework of the Russia Day celebrations.
Throughout the day, compatriots and citizens of different countries shared photos with the Russian tricolour as part of the "#VictoryFlags" campaign. The campaign was organized by the British branch of the Volunteers of the Victory movement with support of the Russian Embassy and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the UK.
