On the eve of the holiday , the Znanie Educational Foundation (London) held an international children's online meeting. More than 70 children from Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Israel and Azerbaijan, speaking 20 different languages, gathered to meet and tell about their interests. Pupils presented themselves in their native and studied language, painted pictures to get to know each other better. For future online meetings, children prepare presentations about London, Moscow, Germany, Tel Aviv or Baku in different languages to learn different cities and share their impressions.
“Currently, in this situation in the world, all plans and projects have been subject to change. Although at first it seemed rather complicated, the Knowledge Foundation decided to implement its projects and events in new formats. The main thing that has become obvious to us is that there are no borders for children, but for now the whole world is struggling with global difficulties, and we must learn to think the same way, ”says Aina Mamaeva, director of the foundation. The goal of the Knowledge Foundation has always been to integrate communities through education, so a completely new project has been developed so that children can continue to be together and communicate, learn and practice languages, learn and unite different cultures and, most importantly, make friends. This was made possible with the support of students, board members and through the project “Confidence and Well-being”,which aims to improve well-being through communication and interaction.
Another topic of the meeting was the international contest of video messages “Let there be peace!” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. The competition was organized by the Makstasics Camp film camp and the Knowledge School with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the UK. Winners were announced during the conference. The prizes were two trips to London from the Knowledge Foundation, two trips to the Maksatics Camp, as well as a week of free study for the smallest participant at the age of 4 years. All participants in the competition will receive personal certificates as a thank you.
“We are extremely happy that we have the opportunity to give children the chance to communicate and cope with isolation together even in such a difficult time, and we know that by working together we can continue to work in such a format as to at least take our mind off the problems and help the education sector thrive, ”say the organizers of the online meeting.
The Council of Russian-speaking Communities of Great Britain and Northern Ireland invites you to celebrate Children's Day with participation in the international online lesson “Roads of Fairy Tales” . The lesson has a shadow theater, a fabulous quiz and logic games. By June 1, the results of the contest “The World Through the Eyes of Children” will also be summed up, the participants of which were invited to draw how they see the world, read a poem or tell what happiness is for each of them.
