Theater producer Vladislav Lemeshevskaya said that the idea of reading letters from the front arose in the context of ongoing quarantine in the UK, as a result of which all offline events on Victory Day were postponed. By this important date, Vladislav wanted to do something in the theater in an online format: “There were ideas to read military prose, poetry, sing songs. But when I opened the archive of letters, and there are a lot of them on the pismapobedy.ru website, I realized that I wanted to breathe life into the letters of real people who went through the war. There is such an undisguised, not artistic truth of life - it’s hard to imagine something stronger than this.
Four actresses read the lines written by soldiers from training and acting units. Soldier triangles were addressed to mothers, fathers and loved ones to Moscow, the village of Tyarlevo, Leningrad Region, Vladivostok, Irkutsk Region. “All letters are incredibly touching. While I myself selected the letters, I could not hold back my tears: there was so much love, hope and strength in each of them. The actors read these letters with pleasure, it is clear that this topic is very important for them, ”says the theater producer.
The project was implemented in collaboration with the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London.
