An online concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War brought together well-known Russian and British musicians on May 9.
Celebrating a significant date, such performers as Larisa Dolina, Oleg Gazmanov, Lev Leschenko, Evgeny Margulis, Vladimir Shakhrin, Alexander Rosenbaum, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Nadezhda Babkina and the Russian Song ensemble, Valeria, took part in the Russian-British concert from the Russian side Alexander Oleshko, Nikolai Baskov, Pelageya, Alexander Marshal, the Quatro group, Alexandrov, Dean Garipov, Aida Garifullin choir, Igor Vernik, Dina Korzun. On the British side were actor Jeremy Irons, former Iron Maiden band member Tony Moore, Yes rock band keyboardist Rick Wakeman and tenor Russell Watson.
“It’s important for us to hold a worthy rally in the UK together with Rossotrudnichestvo and with the assistance of the Russian Embassy, dedicated to this significant date, even at times when public events are not possible,” TASS correspondent Balakleets told. - 75th anniversary of the Victory , Russian and British artists will celebrate online together, which means that we all continue to play for peace in this world, that no one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten! " said Olga Balakleets, head of Ensemble Productions, which organized the concert together with Rossotrudnichestvo, told TASS.
