Open Readings of Brodsky's Poetry Launched in London

The representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London hosted a reciting competition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the famous Russian poet Joseph Brodsky.

The competition’s organizing committee received applications from all over the world – from Khabarovsk and Moscow to Vinnitsa, London, Cambridge, Dorset and Gifford. Actors of the Vertum Theater from St. Petersburg took part in the contest in the ‘professionals’ category.

The jury consisted of Russian film actor Yuri Klimov, drama actor from the Republic of Belarus Oleg Sidorchik; poet, author of various literary and musical programs Margarita Markova; drama and film actor from the Republic of Belarus Denis Horoshko; author of the project ‘Culture beyond Borders’, organizer of competitions dedicated to the 80th anniversary of I. Brodsky, journalist Lyudmila Larkina. Professor Emeritus at Keele University, who has studied Joseph Brodsky’s work for many years, Valentina Polukhina, became the president of the jury.

The series of events dedicated to Brodsky’s 80th anniversary will continue with a children's drawing contest and festive evenings for children and adults.
