On February 23, 1943, military parades in support of the valiant Red Army were held throughout the UK. Thousands of British soldiers and officers marched along the main streets of Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester, and Sheffield. In London, the Royal Albert Hall hosted a ceremony dedicated to the victory of the Soviet troops at Stalingrad. During the ceremony, the anthems of the Soviet Union and the UK were performed in the royal hall, and the red banner solemnly fluttered.
Parades and celebrations in wartime required considerable efforts and resources. The fact that they were organized in the UK in 1943 confirms that the British realized the importance of victory in the Battle of Stalingrad and were grateful for it.
