Examinations in Russian as a foreign language took place at the certified examination center based at the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London.
St. Petersburg State University and the UK-based association of Russian language teachers Russian Teachers Group provided everyone with an opportunity to pass TORFL exam. The first student to take the test was Margarita Emilova MacFarlane, who was born in Bulgaria and lives in London.
TORFL is a contemporary test in Russian Language proficiency, which complies with the European Standards. TORFL is comprised of 5 parts examining language competencies in different fields of language use: Writing, Lexis/Grammar, Reading, Listening, and Speaking.
