At the same time, the chairman of Westminster Russia Forum, Nicholas Cobb, noted that a revision of relations between Russia and the UK should not be expected until the Brexit issue is resolved.
Political relations between Russia and the countries of continental Europe are starting to improve, and we can also expect the development of closer economic ties between Russia and the UK. This opinion was shared with TASS correspondent by Nicholas Cobb, chairman of Westminster Russia Forum, a British organization working to improve relations between Russia, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
According to Nicholas, the forthcoming UK’s exit from the EU is unlikely to significantly affect the political relations between the two countries, but should push British business to strengthen business ties with the Russian Federation, which ranks 11th in the list of the largest trading partners of the UK outside the EU. Cobb indicated that at the moment the preparation of a new trade agreement between the UK and Russia is not underway, however, there is a significant potential for such work to begin in the near future.
