Recently, Deputy Ambassador of the UK Lindsay Skoll arrived in Volgograd. The visit of the distinguished guest was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the twin city movement between Volgograd and Coventry. The delegation visited Mamaev Kurgan, paid tribute to the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad, and spoke with young students from a choreographic school in Volgograd.
At the choreographic school, Ms. Skoll was greeted with bread and salt and presented with flowers. However, the warmth, cordiality and Russian hospitality impressed and touched the distinguished guest on her first visit to Volgograd, which took place in the run up to the 2018 World Cup game between England and Tunisia, which took place at the Volgograd Arena. This time, Ms. Skoll brought a t-shirt of an England national team player with autographs of all the participants of last year’s World Cup.
The British Deputy Ambassador attended a tour of the school, learned about its history, costumes, and awards, as well as attended a concert presented by the students.
