The representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo hosted a literary and musical evening dedicated to the work of a Russian symbolist poet and translator Konstantin Balmont.
The author of the project Margarita Markova says: “Konstantin Balmont is an outstanding Russian poet, one of the founding fathers of Russian symbolism, and a legendary person. At the beginning of the 20th century he was the most published and read poet, the only Russian poet who wrote right away, almost without editing his poems. Balmont was a tireless traveler and a fruitful translator. We decided to pay a tribute to this talented author and plunge into the atmosphere of the Silver Age.”
Russian-speaking actors and reciters living in the UK participated in the event. Balmont’s poetry and songs written on his lyrics were performed by Alexander Filippov, Ekaterina Schneider, and Tatyana Rybakova.
