Young Britons took part in the "Theatrical Petersburg" programme

The seven-day cultural and educational programme of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg "Theatrical Petersburg" was attended by two children from the UK - Nikolai Berezovsky and Nastya Vakhrusheva. The trip became a reward for the victory in the essay competition "Me, Theatre and St. Petersburg", organized by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London. This year, the programme gathered children from 19 countries, and Kolya and Nastya made a lot of new friends. The trip was intensive - children visited 4 master classes with teachers and actors of the theatre art studio.

"Theatrical Petersburg" project introduced the participants of not only to professional theaters of St. Petersburg, but also to creative studios and children's theaters organized at the palaces of creativity. Both the children and the attendants were very interested in learning about the activities of the Palace of Children's (Youth) Creativity "On Lenskaya." The participants visited different classes, saw how young actors themselves make their costumes, decorations and make-up; saw how they work with lighting and as sound engineers. In addition, a tour of St. Petersburg, a trip to the Hermitage, a visit to the theater of N.P. Akimova, a trip to Peterhof, the Benois family museum, the creation of eclairs in the Dostoevsky restaurant, walks through the evening city were organized for the children in the course of the programme.
