"Russian Heritage" Committee held a roundtable discussion entitled "Sharing knowledge about Russian heritage and history" at the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London.
Session was attended by teachers of history and the Russian language, guides, researchers in the field of Russian heritage. Among the invitees were all those interested in transfer of knowledge about Russian presence in the UK and the Russian history to the younger generation, compatriots residing in the UK and the representatives of British public interested in the history of Russia and Russian-British ties.
The meeting discussed teaching of Russian history and organization of thematic historical evenings in schools of further education. The possibility of organizing long-term projects in Russian schools was considered. Each school was offered to develop and implement various events, including exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances, guided tours, and, eventually, exchange knowledge and experiences with other schools.
Participants exchanged experience in organizing city tours on "Russian" London and "Russian" Britain. Professional guide, Dilyara Shah (Ph.D.) told about the Russian heritage in London. It was noted that she and other guides developed routes through the capital of Britain, which reveal the wealth of Russian presence in this country.
