About this centre
TORFL is a contemporary test of Russian Language proficiency, which complies with the European Standards.
Russian Teachers Group, in partnership with Russian Culture House - Rossotrudnichestvo in the UK, are opening a certified TORFL examination and certification centre. The centre runs in partnership with St Petersburg State University (SPBU), Russia's oldest university. St Petersburg State University is one of 13 institutions that have special permission to conduct testing, granted by the Order of the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation of 20 February 2018 No. 130.
What is TORFL
The Test of Russian as a foreign language (TORFL), also known as TRKI (Test po russkomu iazyku kak inostrannomu) is a contemporary test of Russian language for foreign citizens compliant with the best European quality standards, in accordance with Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages (CEFR).
It consists of 6 different levels: from Elementary level (A1) up to the 4th Level Certificate (C2).
The TORFL comprises 5 parts examining language competencies in different fields of language use: Writing, Lexis/Grammar, Reading, Listening, and Speaking.

How to prepare
St Petersburg University offers a selection of endorsed preparation materials for the testing of Russian as a foreign language, which can be accessed for free on their website.
The cost of the examination is £125.
