What is TORFL
The Test of Russian as a foreign language (TORFL), also known as TRKI (Test po russkomu iazyku kak inostrannomu) is a contemporary test of Russian language for foreign citizens compliant with the best European quality standards, in accordance with Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages (CEFR).
It consists of 6 different levels: from Elementary level (A1) up to the 4th Level Certificate (C2).
The TORFL comprises 5 parts examining language competencies in different fields of language use: Writing, Lexis/Grammar, Reading, Listening, and Speaking.

How to prepare
St Petersburg University offers a selection of endorsed preparation materials for the testing of Russian as a foreign language, which can be accessed for free on their website.
Examination enquiries
The cost of the examination is £125.
The next set of examinations will take place on 12 December.
