Film screening and exhibition of photographs dedicated to the anniversary of the first woman-cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova in London

The representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London hosted a screening of the film “Valentina Tereshkova: Seagull in Space”

The screening was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Valentina Tereshkova - the first woman-cosmonaut and the only woman who flew to the space alone. The film about Tereshkova, which is named after her callsign during the flight "The Seagull", was filmed by "Russia Today".

An exhibition of drawings by pupils of the Russian school "Znaniye" dedicated to space took place in the framework of the event.

Valentina Tereshkova has visited the UK many times. She participated in the opening of the exhibition "Cosmonauts" at the Science Museum in London in 2015. In 2017, on the initiative of the Director of Science Museum Ian Blatchford, an exhibition dedicated to the first woman is space will be held.
