The representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London hosted a concert by distinguished musicians Maria Veretenina (coloratura soprano) and Roxanne Tarvide (piano), who masterfully performed Italian arias, pieces by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Puccini, Ravel, Bellini, and Rossini. The programme of the event also featured young musicians, Svetlana Miletskaya and Karina Edwards.
The concert was accompanied by an exhibition of artworks by Dmitry Miletsky. The exposition featured portraits of prominent composers and musicians, as well as watercolors from the “My Tallinn” series. Dmitry Miletsky was born and raised in Chelyabinsk. He completed art degrees in Russia and Canada.
Maria Veretenina has a magnificent voice - a coloratura soprano with a virtuoso range and vivid dramatic talent. Maria is a laureate of international competitions and a guest soloist of the Finnish National Opera. Roksana Tarvide graduated from the Latvian Academy of Music named after Yazep Vitols. Roxana is a laureate of international and national competitions of piano and chamber music. In 2012, while studying, she founded a chamber ensemble "Latvian SOUND Quartet" (oboe, violin, cello, piano), which won several competitions.
The concert was held with support of the London School of Russian Language and Literature.
