Compatriots residing in the UK discussed development of the Russian-speaking community

On the occasion of the Day of National Unity, a meeting of Russian compatriots took place in London. The round table presented a lot of useful information about Russian-British projects and events and was supported by the Government Commission on Compatriots Residing Abroad.

The meeting was moderated by the chairman of the Russian-speaking Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Oleg Sotnichenko, who welcomed the guests of the event and introduced the speakers. The representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in the UK Anton Chesnokov spoke about the most interesting projects organized for compatriots living in the UK, as well as for young people who do not have Russian citizenship. The representative of the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy Igor Pavlov spoke in detail about electronic visas and the features associated with their application for those wishing to visit Russia. Julia Plyaukshta, editor-in-chief of the Russian Heritage magazine, and a member of the Youth Coordination Council Sergei Buravlev, also delivered insightful presentations on relevant topics in the framework of the event.
