A play based on the works of Nadezhda Teffi was presented in London

The representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London presented the play "The Queen of Laughter, or Nostalgia" based on the works of Nadezhda Teffi. Seven short stories by the Russian writer became the basis of a humorous production. Some of them were adapted for the stage, others were originally written as plays.

Russian Classic Theater presented the performance in Russian with English subtitles. Director Dmitry Devdariani said a few words about production: “Two years ago at the Stars of Albion festival we presented a short performance based on the famous story Demonic Woman, which received a great response from the audience. However, the people knew very little about the author. Then we decided to stage the play based entirely on the works of Nadezhda Teffi to tell the British audience about her.”

Lyubov Parkins, Zhanetta Raevskaya, Leonid Kara, Arthur Valitov, Olga Zakharevskaya, Arina Bokova, Oleg Dzhabrailov, and Lina Kryuchkova took part in the play.

The library - the socio-cultural center Teffi (Tikhvin) supported the project. In 2022, Russian Classic Theater plans to participate in events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nadezhda Teffi.
