Conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the twin city movement took place in London

A conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the twin city movement was held at the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in London. The meeting was attended by the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in the UK, representatives of the Russian diplomatic mission, representatives of the Coventry city council, heads of international organizations, as well as British and Russian citizens.

Former Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor John Mutton and secretaries of the Coventry Association for International Friendship Linda and David Hirons addressed the conference. The mayor of Volgograd Vitaly Likhachev, chairman of the Volgograd City Duma Andrei Kosolapov, and director of the Volgograd children’s dance school Olga Ananyeva delivered video messages.

The leader of the initiative group of Volgograd residents living in the UK Olga Igumnova presented projects that reveal the essence and breadth of the twin city movement. Coventry’s official Lady Godiva Prou ​​Porretta shared her experience of charitable activities with the guests of the conference. She also spoke about the international cultural movement of the Godiva Sisters.
