From March 15 to 17, the Second All-British Youth Conference of Compatriots took place in Liverpool. The conference was attended by representatives of progressive Russian youth abroad: active participants in public, political, business life, as well as leaders of youth organizations in the EU countries, the UK, and the Russian Federation.
Over fifty Russian compatriots from Great Britain, Austria, Italy, Cyprus, Ireland, Serbia, Montenegro, Latvia, Estonia and Russia gathered in Liverpool. The opening ceremony of the conference took place in the Liverpool branch of Unite The Union trade union.
The conference took place in the format of a classic round table, as well as panel discussions and TED talks. Two discussions were organised with support of the A. M. Gorchakov Foundation: “Protection against disinformation” and “Young Europe and Russia - tendency, practice and development criteria”. Participants, together with experts from Europe, the CIS countries and Russia, discussed the challenges and constraints created by certain countries in these areas.
According to the results of the conference, the participants jointly developed and approved a draft Roadmap 2019-2020 for the development of the youth compatriots movement in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. At the end of the conference, each delegate was presented with a certificate of participation in the II All-British Youth Conference of Russian Compatriots as a souvenir from the organisers.
