International Women's Day was celebrated in London

Association of Compatriots “Sputnik”, the Russian Voluntary Bureau and Culture beyond Borders project organised a gala concert for compatriots on International Women's Day with support of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Council of Russian Communities.

Irina Pskovitina, singer and composer Tatyana Rybakova, Olga Storey, and the Women's Council ensemble performed for the guests of the evening. Young members of the children's choir "Sun" and "Smorodina" ensemble sang moving songs about mothers and grandmothers. Student of the Natalia Kremen’s ballet school performed a dance number. Russian Classic theater under the direction of Dmitry Devdariani presented an excerpt from the play “Evening in Sorrento” by I. Turgenev.

Women who actively participate in volunteer activities received books from Rossotrudnichestvo as a gift.

The evening was concluded with the British premiere of the comedy “Crimean Bridge. Made with love!”(2018) directed by Tigran Keosayan (script: Margarita Simonyan). A romantic story, which unfolds around “the construction of the century” in the Kerch Strait, was well-received by the audience.
